With the boom of case modding, more and more
companies are opening up in this market. They bring to the
plate the idea of providing the perfect case mod to the
masses. The mod that will awe every person that lays their
eyes on it. Often times, this is hard to do as there isn't a
'perfect' mod that will fit every person. One person's love is
another person's hate.
Xoxide
Modifications gave us a holler a few weeks back letting us here
at GT know that they were getting some complete mods out. Of
course, we're always interested in new and improved mod ideas, we
wanted to take a look at what they offer. So they sent us a
Polaris Iceforge:

Now this case looks oddly familiar!
We actually reviewed this unit under a different name, the Super
Power Zephyr. Now the Zephyr doesn't look like this one,
but with a switch of the front bezel, and you'll get this Polaris
case. Anyway, we're not look at the stock values of this case,
more on how the case has been modified. Read through the
Zephyr review if you need some basic background information on the
unit. One thing to notice, is that they took off the rear
plastic bezel. Other than that, the case is nearly identical.
Here are some basic advantages of this
case:
-
Dual 120mm high output Dynatron fans
-
On/Off switch with LED for the dual fans
-
Option of adding different Power Supplies to the case
The dual fans are on a switched circuit, which allows
you to turn the fans on or off. Right above the rocker switch is
an LED which turns on red while the fans are on, and off when it
isn't. Pretty straight forward.

There's a smudge above the rocker switch in
our sample. We just used a little elbow grease and some Goo Gone
and it went away. At least these weren't serious scratches! : )
