GlobalWin VOS32

While perusing around looking for heatsinks to test
out on my aging PIII 550, I came across this GlobalWin monster, the
VOS32. This Slot 1 cooler is something to look at, at a
whopping 118x75x45mm it is probably the largest thing we have in our
test rig! It fits on all Athlon, SECC1&2 Pentium 3
CPU's. So how does this aluminum behemoth hold up on
dissipating the heat? Let's find out...

One Big 'Sink!
On the back side of the VOS32 are a
couple of slits that provide some cache cooling. It may help,
but on the other hand, the heatsink is not shielded or covered so I
am not sure how much air can get through the slits for adequate
cooling.

On the Under Side
Thanks to Chris over at SubzeroPC
for providing us with this test sample, you guys rock!
We tested the VOS32 on our trusty
PIII 550e and Asus P3B-F. Along with the heatsink, the package
contained a plastic bracket for heatsink support, retention clips,
GW thermal grease and a 3 pin splitter. The splitter is a nice
touch since it cuts down on the number of 3 pin connectors that are
taken up by the two 60mm fans on the heatsink.
