The clip mechanism on the 6027D is exactly the same one used on the previous model.  We loved the clip design as it is easy to put on and not too hard.  A large piece is provided on the clip to push down on so you can actually do this using your bare hands.

From the above shot, you can see the extra height the 6035D has over the 6027D.  Also to note, is the extra shine the smaller unit has.  The shroud that covers the copper unit itself is still made of aluminum, the same as before.

Something that did struck me odd was the amount of fins that were on this unit.  The older model had a total of about 34-35 fins, while this unit has about 44!  Even though it is smaller, there is lot more surface area.  The temperature readings for this unit should be rather surprising if these number of fins hold up correctly.

A Delta fan is still the fan of choice to use with the 6027D.  This fan is actually not the 38CFM unit that was used earlier, but a 30CFM model.  I would assume Vantec is going towards a quieter cooling solution with this unit.
