-- Installation
-- Page: 1 2 3

The installation of the Connector Box is very straight forward, plug the wires in and you're set.  The hard part for some people may be cutting the wires off of the neon tubes.  Street Glow did provide us with a 10" Chrome Neon Tube to test this Connector Kit out.

We will be installing the Connector Kit in conjunction with Street Glows 10" Chrome Neon Accent Kit.  This tube is slightly different than the normal neon tubes you may get at your favorite PC modification shops.  This tube comes attached with a car cigarette adapter instead of the commonly seen molex connector.

The best part about using the Connector Kit is that, no soldering or twisting of wire is needed.  You do need to remove the cigarette adapter to expose the wire.  Not a hard process, but would be easier if Street Glow will decide to produce some Neon Tubes without the cigarette adapter.

We also tried out the Street Glow Mini-Neon tubes.  They are a slightly smaller than the normal 10 inchers, but they pack a nice glow.  A splitting device is utilized with this neon package since two tubes are included.  The only wire stripping you would need to do is the one on the device.  Just ripped off the cigarette adapter and you're all set.

The advantages of this smaller mini-neon is that two tubes are provided which can be of good use in a large box.  You can place one tube near the top and another at the bottom.  Both using the same power source.

Just plug in the two wires into a pair of connectors and you are set.  One of the wires is solid black, which will plug into the negative (ground) connector.  The striped will plug into the other.

The next step that most people will follow should be to install the SPST switch into a front bezel for easy access.  We already had a bezel installed, so we just added another spot for the switch to fit into.  Any Dremel or drill should be able to produce the correct sized hole easily for you.

I placed the neon tube at the bottom of our test case, a modified Antec KS188 Value Full Tower.  Snapped the front bezel back in and we are ready to see how this Connector Kit works!
