-- Conclusions

We installed this printer on a Windows XP SP1 machine.  There are no included drivers, so you will be forced to use the included CD-ROM.  Once installed, make sure you open up your printer properties and check which printer port it is using.  We previously had another printer hooked up to USB, so the ML1750 was forced onto the LPT1 port.  So that had to be changed to USB before any data communication would happen.

The preferences of the printer allows for the standard portrait and landscape printing options.  Changes in the print resolution is also available as well as watermarking and overlays.

The quality of the print is excellent.  All text are crisp, even when using the toner save function.  The following is a picture of an actual page print of the US Constitution.

The unit has a slight noise problem as during the warm up and printing process, it gives off a high 'whirling' sound.  It isn't a major issue as the print comes out very quick, but if noise is a factor in your work area, you may wish to take that into consideration.  Spool up is quick, at about 13 seconds for our 13 page test print.  With 8MB of memory, you probably would not see much of a slow down until you start printing up thousand page documents.  The 8MBs of memory are not upgradeable, but if you plop down for this $200 printer, chances are, you are not looking at something that has the ability to.

Overall, this unit is a best buy.  Not only has Samsung created an easy to use unit, it is also visually appealing and provides the printing power any home office can use.
