-- Samsung 191N Syncmaster LCD
-- Price: ~$799.99 USD

We have always wondered when large quality LCDs would be in the same ballpark in regards to pricing.  Very good quality CRT monitors still fetch a pretty penny, especially in the 19" to 21" range.  After watching prices for LCDs start plummeting this past year, we have finally reached the point where a fully viewable 19" LCD is obtainable for a reasonable price.  And of course, the leader in quality and pricing is the one to bring it out, Samsung.

Today we are going to look at the Syncmaster 191N 19" viewable LCD from Samsung.  Huge LCD real estate has been tough to obtain, this unit should provide it and then some.  This 191N is an analog based model, so no DVI connectors are included.  If you are interested in DVI, the big brother 191T has them both, but for a higher price tag.

Some specs on the unit from Samsung:

A lot of people say first impressions are important.  Samsung is often the leader on quality design and styling.  Their previous LCD units are beautifully crafted, and this model definitely follows suit.  I've always been a big fan of thin borders around LCDs.  I believe it gives it a more elegant look and feel.  The silver on black design of the 191N is smooth and blends in nicely on the desk.

The unit is heavier than other LCDs, but that is a given with its size.  There is also no power adapter (wall wart) with this unit, it is built into the back of the unit.  This provides less clutter on your desk, a definite good thing.  They also went with the standard 3 prong power cable used in nearly all computer systems.
