3 We are going to look at
the newest DVD/CDRW combo drive from
Samsung today,
the 352b. Samsung has been quite busy getting the quickest
speeds out on the market, while making it affordable for everyone.
The 352b is the 'older' brother to our previous
252b review, in addition to the 52X write, 24X re-write, 52X
read, the 352b also adds the 16X DVD read option to the mix.
For users who are building a cheap and compact system, these combo
drives are a god send. The ability to read DVDs and perform
all CD-R/RW writing functions is a perfect match.
There were a couple of issues we had with the 252b,
let's see if they have been fixed in this updated or not.

Included in the package is the
drive itself, IDE cable, screws, audio cable, Samsung CD, Nero
5.5.10.5 CD and PowerDVD XP.

I have always like the overall
packaging of Samsung products. The manuals are not oversized
with too much information. They have fully adopted Nero and
PowerDVD as their bundled software. They used to use EZ CD
which did not pack as many options as Nero.

The eject button is a bit translucent
and large as usual. The face plate design is simple and clean
with easy access to the eject button.
