The Cold Cathode industry is obviously taking off, not with just computer add-ins, but in other industries like copiers, automotive, display back lights and so forth. One of the larger manufacturers of Cold Cathodes is Lamps Electronics and they have provided us with 8 cold cathodes
for a round up.
Out of the 8 CCFLs, one of them stood out
from the crowd, a Red - Blue - Green CCFL. I received all of the CCFL's in a large box, so I'm not sure how everyone else's will be packaged for sale, but here is what the inner packaging looks like. It is all set for retail sales with a tab for hanging.

Here is what is included when you unpack the CCFL kit: A 12-inch CCFL, an enclosed inverter, Velcro to install the inverter box, anchors and wire ties for the lamp.

Here is the power connector and plug in power switch. The wires between the inverter and lamp is about 11 inches. The switch is about 12 inches from the inverter box, and the power Y-splitter is another 3 inches.

This is the inverter box, it is 85mm x 25mm x 20mm (LxWxH) and the wires enter on each end. One thing to note is that the plugs aren't accessible without opening the box.

The only parts left are the anchors and the Velcro. The anchors are 1 inch square with a peel off backing to install the CCFL lamp where ever you need to. The anchors use 6 inch wire ties, which is long enough to give you plenty of room to get the best fit. The Velcro included is the same size as the inverter to keep it in place when moving your case.
