-- Conclusion
-- Page: 1 2 3 4

Speeds of the striped drives had an increase in buffered read and both buffered and sequential writes.

Mirroring the 2 drives did not gain much, sequential read was increased but write performance decreased.

Other features supported by the ISWAP 2-channel from Enhance Technology.

  • Supports RAID 0, 1 and JBOD
  • Supports "Hot Swap" under RAID 1
  • Hot swap for easy repair/replacement of drives while PC remains active.

I would like to thank Marcel over at Enhance Technology for sending me the ISWAP to review. I would like to say that the ISWAP is made for small businesses that are planing to use RAID controllers and RAID level 1 (Mirroring). The ISWAP forces you to use only the master channels on the controllers. This is limiting but does provide speed advantages.

  • Light weight.
  • HOT Swap-able using RAID level 1
  • Temperature sensor (adjustable between 3 temp)
  • Fan moves lots of air
  • Fan alarm
  • All aluminum
  • LED Status lights

  • ALL Drives have to be Master.
  • Drive bays don't lock.
  • Missing screws
