one drive working, we should get the second drive working
as well since it is in the carrier. I go into
my box of extra cables and pull out another rounded UV
cable. I want to make sure that both connectors
are able to reach, so I plug this into the mother board
secondary IDE channel and plug both into the back plane.
once again power the machine back up. All 3 of the
LED are green now, so I log into the machine.
check Windows Explorer expecting to see another drive
added to the list of drives in my computer, but I'm
missing one. So back to the drives to re-check
them. I pull out the
drive that is not showing up and double check to
make sure that it is set to slave, and it was.
check the user guide provided by Enhance
Technology, under the section for installing hard
drives it gives a quick run down.
#7 states "Set the hard drive's jumper setting
to master (consult your hard drive user manual)."

Strange but that's what the manufacturer wants.
tested the system with Sandra Soft checking speeds on the
drive before I put in the RAID card (Adaptec 1200A).
At this point, I installed the RAID Card to
make sure everything is operational and to set it to RAID 0.
I like having large amounts of HD space, useful for
backing up purposes. Plus, everyone always wants more speed out
of his or her systems and RAID 0 can provide the boost.
Once I made sure the second drive was set
to master, I reconnected everything and powered up the
computer once again. All of the drives are there this
