Installation is super easy with this ICEe Computers CCFL kit. All of the important items have a peel away adhesive backing. This includes the blue boxes, the mic, and the CCFL.
Before you install your CCFL, there is a little bit of assembly required. Included in the packaging is 2 little tiny screws that are used to mount the DPDT onto the slot cover. Installing the pot is a little bit easier, just align the small pin with the little hole and put the washer on and then the nut and you are all set. In case you are wondering, I didn't receive a knob in the packaging, but the pot has a ribbed shaft that is really easy to handle so a knob isn't necessary. Here is the slot cover installed in one of my cases.

Once you have everything installed, you are ready to see your CCFL in action. Here is what the lamp looks like in continuous mode. Click on the image to see an AVI of the CCFL in sound reactive mode.

In conclusion, it has been a pleasure working with this CCFL. I really like the hinged ends that allow for the installation of the CCFL in odd angles, it is a lot more convenient than using adhesive anchors and wire ties like many of us use. I also like the controls that are included that connect to the slot cover, but they could easily be adapted and added to a baybus or whatnot. Even though you probably wouldn't change between continuous and reactive mode that often, having the controls on the front of your system would
have been a lot more convenient.
I would like to thank Jimmy from
ICEe Computer for providing their sound reactive CCFL.
