There are a total of 4 fans in the case, 2 80mm fans
in the back and 2 92mm on the side panel. The 80s are situated
right above the power supply and near the I/O panels in the
back. The 92s are right on top of each other. The 2 80mm
are rated at 86CFM (combined) while the 2 92mm are rated at 100CFM
The side fans are pointed directly at your CPU and
video card, which should help in cutting the temperature for that
The rear fans exhaust the hot air,
while the two side panel fans blow air in. Unfortuanately,
there is no front intake fan near the bottom of the case.
Strange, but this case has been tested to perform the best this way
by 3DCool. Here's what they said in regards to their fan
"We tried everything possible with the HellSTORM
2000. We tried fans on the top, bottom, front, back, and both sides
in every combination possible. This design was the one that proved
to be the most effective. We didn't sacrafice quality for cost on
the HellSTORM series cases, and it shows. Don't be fooled by
competitors selling cases with a dozen fans saying that theirs is
cooler, when the extra fans are proven to just create noise and
disrupt airflow. Our fan placement is the absolute best possible for
this exact case."
One gripe I had was that they kept the
stock grill. It might have been better to cut that out to
allow a bit more airflow through.
Also note, the case comes with a
removable motherboard tray. Which makes it easier for some
people when installing their components. You just need to
remove 2 screws to slide the tray out.
Now before we go inside the case, keep
in mind this case is not screwless. So you lazy folks, break
out that philips screwdriver because you're going to need it.
