Back when we did our Aluminum
Case Round Up, we looked at a Skyhawk case that had something
that no other case had. It had a vertical bar that was there
to keep the PCI cards in place securely. This is a good option
for people who bring their cases around to places.
So what's on the 8870? Yup, a
vertical bar also to help keep those cards in check. You can
remove the bar if you wanted, but let me show you how this thing works.
You take the green plastic stabilizer and
shove it in the notch in the vertical bar. Position it above any
card you want and you got yourself a support beam. Only two of
these green workers were provided, so that doesn't give too much room
for any extra components. Again, strange.
The 8870 comes in two flavors of PSUs.
We received ours with a Channel Well 300W power supply. There are
also 400W versions I believe for a higher price.
