What I will be doing is transplanting my current
system into this new CDI box. The old box sat in my modded
Antec, which had a good number of fans from Sunon. If I might
add, Sunon fans are about the most loudest fans you can stick in a
box. They are strong, but they sure are loud.
Here's a run down on what I am transplanting from my
old case to the CDI modded monster:
- Asus P3V4X Slot 1 Motherboard
- P3 700 @ 1035 w/ Alpha P3125 Heatsink
- 3 X 128mb Crucial PC133 CL2 SDRam
- Asus V6800 Geforce DDR 32mb
- Sound Blaster Live! Value <-- yea!
- SMC 1211 10/100 PCI Ethernet
- Adaptec 2390 SCSI Card
- ATI Tv Wonder VE Tuner
- 27GB Western Digital ata/66 7200rpm HD
- 13GB IBM Desktar ata/66 7200rpm HD
- 30GB Seagate Barracuda ata/66 7200rpm HD
- Hitachi 5X DVD Region Free!
- Ricoh 6X4X24 SCSI CD-RW
- Sony 1.44 Floppy Drive
I will start off of course by positioning the
motherboard in the exact spots. Followed by the insertion of
the AGP and PCI cards, pretty straight forward system building
Above you can see the huge space that
exists between the dvd and hard drive, and the power supply.
There is ample room to maneuver within that space to do any kind of
tinkering you may think of. The hard drive you see there is the
30GB Seagate. It is sitting behind the Evercool Bay
Cooler. Even though this hard drive hasn't caused too many
problems in regards to heat, having it cooled a little more is always
a good idea. It is my backup drive to say the least, so I
definitely would not want to fail!
Here's the rest of the system all hooked
up and ready to boot. The hard drives here were a breeze to put
in. The cables had ample room, so if you move your components
around a lot you won't have to worry about bumping into your any PCI
cards with your hand.
So how much cooler is this case as
compared to what I had before?
