The manual and documentation that comes
with the drive are simple and easy to understand. The CenDyne CD
Mastering Software that comes with the drive is Nero Burning ROM
version 5.5, from Ahead Software. The package includes an Integrated
Device Electronics (IDE) cable to connect the drive to the
motherboard. Screws to secure the drive to the case and audio cables
were also provided in the package. The drive was set on slave mode,
and was installed on the same IDE cable as the regular Compact Disk
Read Only Memory (CDROM).
The Personal Computer (PC) used for testing has an AMD XP1800+ CPU
on an EPOX 8K5A motherboard with 256 Megabytes of Double Data Rate (DDR)
PC2100 memory. The PC is equipped with two 80 gig Maxtor hard drives
(HD) operating on a Redundant Array of Individual Devices (RAID). The
operating system (OS) used was Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
with Service Pack 3 (SP3).
