I love GlobalWins, I really do.  Aside from the fact that they perform great, the price you pay isn't insane either.  I think I mentioned the first GW HSF I used was the FDP32, which I still have to this day.  The good old days of the C366...

Anyway, we're going to fast forward and get to their offering today.  Its the CAKII-38, and its one big mother.

The unit itself is machined from one block of copper.  Much like the thin fin heatsinks you see widely available nowadays.  One gripe I had was the small clip.  A small flat headed screw driver is needed to really get this unit on.

The unit is rated 2.3Ghz and as usual, GW labels on their boxes, it is 'excellent for over-clocking'.

Having it machined from one block makes dissipating heat easier than units that have their fins soldered on.  As with most copper heatsinks, a high speed fan is needed.  GW coupled this block with a 7K fan, a bit on the loud side at nearly 47Dba.

The bottom of the unit has a black square thermal pad.  I still don't understand the use of thermal pads.  They offer less performance gains and is a pain to get off.  Having a small blister pack would be easier and re-usable in my opinion.
