|-- Putting in the LEDs
-- Page: 1 2
Once you have the Backlight LED Illuminators, lay
them out and get them ready. They are really small, so work in
a clutter free area to be safe.
Here I have inserted the LED into the
circuit board in the same area we were looking at before. Get
your soldering iron ready, we're going to make it count.
Once you solder the LED leads in, we're
going to test it out first before reassembling it. Find a power
source and plug it in:
If everything went correctly, you should
see something like this:
Once it's checked, start screwing back the
circuit board and place it back in the bracket. Here's a close up
shot in the dark:
Conclusion - I would rate the difficulty of
this project a 7 on the 1 to 10 scale. Even though this is an easy LED
replacement job, unsoldering the LEDS from the PCB takes a lot of
patience and steady hands. You can change it any color other than
blue, just purchase the correct colored LEDs.
Hope this project helped make your DigiDoc5
a bit more interesting!
