-- Cleaning the Insides
-- Page: 1 2 3

Before I did all the fan unhooking, I did take out my motherboard to make it easier to maneuver.  Not that much dust was behind the motherboard, but as mentioned before, my heatsink took a major beating.  So we're going to focus on cleaning that real good.

That's a shot of the Alpha while still sitting inside the case.  Notice all the filth on the 2 fans, definitely something we want to take care of.

This is what we have after removing the heatsink from the motherboard, notice all the dust has gathered at the bottom of it.  After some immediate cleaning, we got rid of most of the visible particles.

But if I looked closely between each fin, I noticed that there are some dust balls that just won't come out with any type of shaking or blowing.  So to combat this, we went and washed our heatsink.

Yup, we dunked it in hot soapy water.  It actually works, a good amount of extra dirt came off.  After removing it from water, just let it air dry or take a hair dryer to it.  Should continue to work as before without a problem.
