Installation of the sound card was easy and straight forward.  Just put the card in, boot up Windows, insert the driver cd, and off you go.  While installing the sound card I did notice  that there is no digital audio connector on the card to connect to a cdrom.  There was only 2 analog cdrom headers on the sound card.  One thing that I would to see would be the reworking of the connectors to eliminate the dongle, since they are easy to loose and the sound card is useless without it.

The control panel for the Fortissimo II is very well thought out, a lot better than SBlive's control panel in my opinion.

The main screen allows you to control the most used functions in one spot.  The recording source allows you to select the recording source which includes: Stereo Mix, CD, MIc, Line In, Aux, Digital In.  The speaker mode is a very handy but while we were testing it out sometimes the sound card would get stuck in one of the modes and the only way we found to be able to change the mode was a quick reboot.

   The mixer is pretty self-explanatory.

The Inclusion of a 10 band equalizer is welcome site.

I will be honest I know nothing about midi.

This other part is pretty self-explanatory also.  One note:  to change from the Main outputs to the Digital Audio source does require you to reboot.
