In this test we will be using two 256MB sticks in this rig:

  • Intel 2.6C
  • Intel D865PERL Motherboard
  • ATI Radeon 9000pro
  • 80GB and 120GB WD HDD's with 8MBcache
  • Windows XP Home w/ SP1

All tests were conducted using the speeds recommended by the manufacturer.  These were set by entering the BIOS and changing a few settings.  After a reboot we were all set to go.

We used Sisoft Sandra and PCMark2002 for our test.  If you are wondering why we chose to use PCMark over 3DMark to benchmark this ram it's quite simple.  3DMark relies heavily on your video card which isn't what this review is about.

We compared this module to two sticks of PNY 512MB PC3200.

   Buffalo Tech:

As you can see the faster Buffalo Tech RAM has a huge increase over the PNY ram.
