The device itself is wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap that should be more than sufficient to prevent damage in normal shipping conditions. And unlike some other stuff I have come across lately, its not held together by a roll and a half of tape, so its fairly easy to extract from the wrapping.
Its also the good kind of bubble wrap that you can annoy people for hours on end by popping the bubbles one by one.
After removing the bubble wrap, you find the usual packet of screws/keys, instructions, and the EZ-Swap. It was also nice to see that the instructions were fairly complete. Unlike some companies that throw in a "quick start" card and hope for the best, everything I have ever seen from Vantec included a very complete and easy to understand set of directions.
