Evergreen Technologies has long been known for the CPU upgrades kits that they offer. The first time I ever heard about Evergreen was when I saw their 486 to Pentium Upgrade. After that I lost track of them until now, when the Evergreen PerformaIII 850 landed at my doorstep.
The Pefroma III is Evergreen's newest line of processor upgrades to get Pentium2 based systems running at P3 specs. Basically the Performa III is a slocket with a Pentium 3 chip in it that will work with the Pentium 2 subsystem.
I eagerly wanted to test the Performa III on my parents Packard Bell Pentium2 350 (I know, I know, Packard Bell what the hell was I thinking, I'm sorry but this was a surprise Christmas gift, I had no choice in the matter). If it works in a Packard Bell, it will probably work with any computer.
