I watched avidly as Enermax introduced the CS-990AL, the predecessor to the CS-5190.  It was slow to catch on or get full distribution to resellers.  The reason, aside from its high prices, was probably because the follow-on product must have been in the works.  As soon as it was made available, CS-5190AL-061/CSX-61, I snatched one up from one of my favorite retailers, Newegg.com.  This is a pricey case and not for the faint of heart or pocket book at $390.00.  My rationale for spending this much was I was already paying top dollar for high end parts, video card, mobo and processor etc.  I wanted a quality box to put them all in and not have to fight with cheap sheet metal every time I wanted to mod or upgrade this box.  Also with the high end audio, it doubles as my entertainment system for the office/den just off my living room.  And I wouldn’t be embarrassed by having a geeky PC out in the open.  Enough blabber, lets take a look.

Here are the company line of specs:

  • Aluminum structure with car level finish coating
  • Shiney auto coating (CS-5190AL-001 excluded)
  • Easiest access: I/O at front panel including USB, Volume tuner, Audio in/ out/ Mic, Game port (joystick) and IEEE 1394
  • Wonderful ventilation design-- total number of cooling fans up to 7 at front panel, side cover and back window.
  • Optional VRs on 3.5" bezel for fan speed control
  • 12cm and 8cm fans on side panel!
  • Optional Visible side panel for retailer demo
  • More drive bays than other PC case in the market, 4x5.25" +3x3.5" opening bays and 3x3.5" hidden bays for HDD
  • Fits in ATX, Pentium 4 M/B for best application
  • Thumb screws, slide-in and removable M/B plate for easy system assembly
  • Entry level server configuration applicable with total 10 drive bays
  • 100% folded edge to avoid any physical injuries
  • Air opening on front and side panels for the best heat dissipation
