We have a pretty nifty item for review today.  Like most people, a computer can be set up just about anywhere.  On tables, floors and even carpet.  Instead of placing them directly on the ground, put them on one of these acrylic stands we are reviewing today from iCute.

Labeled the X-Stand, it provides a little platform that lets your computer or other peripherals sit elevated from the ground.

Here are some features and specs:

  • UV Reactive Clear Blue Acrylic
  • Supports up to 2 Cold Cathode Lights of any color
  • Base Dimensions: 20.5" L x 10" W x 1.25" H
  • Surface Dimensions: 18.25" L x 8" W

The basic layout of the X-Stand is just an acrylic base with the middle cut out for a CCFL tube.  Please note, the CCFL tube is NOT included with the package.  You will need to purchase them separately.  It is a bit mis-leading since the box itself says 'sound activated'.  The X-Stand itself is not sound activated, the CCFL is.  Don't be fooled.  It was also a bit weird that they included some adhesive foam pads for the base, but if you notice, rubber feet are already screwed in.  Maybe it's for a backup? Who knows.

XPCases was kind of enough to send us a sound activated CCFL tube to go with this stand.  The first thing to do, is grab the connector from your CCFL and string it through the little opening.

Grab your inverter and plug the CCFL connector into it.  There are two connections on the inverter for control of two tubes.

You should have something similar to the picture above once you string the wires through.
