Before we turn it on, I want to point out a small but useful addition to this kit.  On most kits, you get an acrylic tube that goes over the CCFL tube itself to protect it.  Usually, these tubes are open ended so the CCFL slides around if at times in and out of the acrylic.  BitsModding has gone ahead and put two plugs at the end to prevent this.  I know this isn't a huge deal, but BM is the only manufacturer to do this thus far.

They're made of soft rubber and can be easily removed if needed.  I'll stop stalling, let's turn them on:

CCFL Lighting up our Zeus Case

CCFL Lighting up our Enlight 7237 with Window Etch Mod.

Looks pretty smooth in these cases.  I did notice that the tube doesn't really have an even flow throughout.  Near the tip away from wire, the green is a little duller than the other end.  I'm not sure if this is just this tube or if it's usually like that.  It does light up the cases far better than any neon or LED I have tested.

Overall, the kit is very well presented right down to the packaging.  The addition of rocker/molex is common nowadays, but a different 'closed' design acrylic tube was a great change.  The accessories are great, but I sure would wish manufacturers would include more than 3 zip ties in a box.  That would help in case the user needed to move the tube to a different area.

The length of wire between inverter and molex is little over 12".  It should be adequate enough in most cases.  It may post a problem in full towers and other larger cases.

Thanks to BitsModding for sending us this preview sample.  They have a ton of colors available, which should be on the market soon.

Pros:

  • Great packaging
  • Pre-wired, plug and play operation
  • Inverter is wrapped
  • Acrylic tubes are closed

A wide range of colors to choose from

Cons:

  • Colors not entirely even through the tube
