Most of the time, we here at GT have been using neon and CCFL's to get some light into our cases.  Often times, there are just some spots you can't shine light in or space is just too limited.  Times like these, bright LEDs may be the way to go.  We're going to take a look at a small device from Glowire called the Lazer Leds that make using LEDs a snap.

The box comes with a chrome housing that holds 3 LEDs together, in our sample, blue ones.  From the underside of the housing are two wires that come out to a molex connector for your power supply.  Two screws are also supplied in case you want to secure it somewhere.

Here are some specs on the unit:

  • Voltage range 12-14 volts
  • DCDraw:  Less than 26 mA @ 12 volts
  • 38 Lazer LEDs use less than 1 amp
  • Comes with a 4pin Molex connector that hooks directly to your 12 volt power supply
  • Average light intensity per LED: Blue - 3000mcd Red - 4000mcd

Here's some more info right off the box, I'm quite interested in the water proof they mention.  I probably won't be dunking this into water anytime soon:
