Under Vista, I received the same results of 32/30 MB/s for the drive Index and 13/15 ms for the random access times on the WD and Seagate drives respectively.
Overall the entire device worked the same with either Windows XP or Vista. If you’re thinking about using the backup software, you will be limited to XP, but that is more the software vendor's issue than Tagan's.
The adjustable speed fan on the rear of the enclosure is a nice touch. Having two HDDs running can create a bit of heat.
Speed indexing and drive access is on par with other USB drive cases. The look of the enclosure is sleek and looks great in my living room. The only other issue I had with it to date was the power cord that came in the box. I hope current North America released ICY BOX units have the correct power plug.
Thanks to Tagan for sending over this sample!
