The cables are suprisingly well constructed. Each one is wrapped in a silver UV reactive mesh with a thin rubber shell, and the connectors themselves are solid.

I did notice that the cables might be too rigid. Right out of the box, the cables were difficult to position and twist. The molex connectors plugged into my devices without any issues, but the SATA cable did NOT want to stay in. With any little tug or bump the SATA connector popped right out of the hard drive. This is a hard drive failure waiting to happen. To fix this, I used one of my own SATA power splitters to keep it in place. Hopefully future revisions will fix this problem.

My old PSU was a 430W Enermax that never failed or faltered. So changing to the Ultra X-Connect needed some extra push. Modular cabling was enough as the following pictured showed what kind of mess most power supplies exhibit.
