Wow! How exciting! I went to their website and looked around some more trying
to see if there were any new updates (www.modthemachine.tv). To add to the
excitement there was my name. I notice there was only five names, but there are
supposed to be 6, a 3 vs. 3. I call the guy who will now be known as Chris; and
told him I knew of another modder if he needed one to fill the sixth position.
Chris tells me to that he has it covered but to have the guy I know send him an
email.
So I contact Eddie_Dane from Bit-Tech.net as I know he is here in South
Carolina. He's one hell of a modder, even better than I am, and has a real
passion for it. So I called him and told him about the show and he was real
excited. However, he wasn't sure if he could get time off on such a short notice
but told me that he would get back to me. Well about 10 minutes later he calls
me back and says he is in. So I get him to email Chris and get on the show.
Wednesday morning I call Chris and touch base with him and see what kind of
material he wants for the show and he tells me anything I can spare would be
much appreciated. So I tell him to just relax I would bring plenty of supplies
up there. I'm always the opportunist, so I asked him about what kind of cases
they were using. I have been looking for a public way to get the new C³ FS
series cases exposed and thought this would be a great debut for them. Chris
tells me about Thermaltake backing out at the last minute. I offered to supply
them with a couple of cases for the show. Chris tells me that that would
actually be great. He asked if I knew where he could get two sponsored
power supplies and two DVD-ROMs. Well I make a few phone calls and get two
DVD-ROMs from Chipco, my local distributor, and I sponsored the power supplies
myself. C³ would provide cases and acrylic. Chris also tells me that Eddie_Dane
will be coming on board also. So now I am psyched and am hoping he and I will be
on the same team. That came back with a "That ain't happening".
Chris tells me that the twp computers are going to be donated to the local
childrens hospital so it really doesn't matter who wins. So now my own kids are
psyched about this just like me. I did the show for a few reasons:
- It would be a great experience.
- I get to do something for children who don’t have computers while in the
hospital.
- My kids, they really got off on the idea of their daddy being on TV.
- And lastly I get to meet other modders and to collaborate with them to bring
an idea to life; kind of like our very own Monster Garage.
Friday morning at 8:40 am I meet Eddie_Dane at C³ so we can caravan to NC. We
get to the hotel at about 2:30 in the afternoon.

We check in and are ready to go.

Here is Mrs. Eddie_Dane and Mr. Eddie_Dane.

We meet Chris the Man with the plan. Ok let's get to the set.

We pull up at the set and I get a little worried.

Well, it can't be that bad, I have modded in the front yard
before. So let's go in.

Wow a real set; how exciting!

Break time. This is one of our trips back downstairs. We entered
the set from here and this was take 5 or 6 for the production staff. We just
couldn't get it right; maybe we should have told them we were modders not actors
;). The first day consisted of us doing the intro and promo shots for the
show.
Here we are taking our first set of promo pics.
