ModTheMachine ???

I was set to write an article about this, but instead I will just tell you a story instead.

It all started on Jan 22nd 2005 with a post in the GideonTech forums about being on TV. Something about modding your computer and playing with power tools. Anyhow, I sent my info in and got nothing and was a little surprised by this. So I did a little searching elsewhere and found a few other post just like this one. Being the suspicious person I am, I began to be apprehensive with the offers and lack of information. I sent a pm to the guy who posted.

He responded with a link to his site, and I was looking around and saw what turned out to be a lackluster site. Often times, if a site doesn't have that professional look, you tend to brush it aside into the "scam" pile. Not that he was being deceptive, I am just suspicious by nature. I gave some real hard pointers to this new guy and figured he would never select me to be on the show now. I purposely kept C out of the conversation because once people find out I am with C I get the "Can I get a free case e-mails". So I just left it out and sent the application with some advise to help him out in the future.

A couple of weeks go by and I receive an email asking if I would be interested and if I was available in mid February to come on the show. I responded with an astounding yes! Then I get another email stating the show has been postponed due to conflicts. I give the guy a call to just touch base with him and he tells me that there is a film festival so they moved the date and would get back with everyone. At this point I put things out of my mind and figured if it didn't work out, it just wasn't meant to be. I had one more call with the guy and told him about me being with C; and if I could help out in any way to please let me know. I even offered to send him acrylic to use for the show and wished him luck with getting things in order.

Lets move forward to April 12 2005 I get this e-mail:
