This put me out about $204.00 after I get my rebates back. I could have saved the money on the disk drive. If I just used one of the disk I had waiting to go into a machine, but where is the fun in that. It was placed on the old home made rack that is being replaced with a real rack.
I went through the setup of the device and formated the Hatichi 160 Gig drive.

Then next few pages were just me making sure I wanted to save the information (two - three times). Once that is done you can connect via a web browers and format the drive(s). You have to use their format or the disk wont be writable.

Jumping on my mail server / IRC machine (Running Fedora Core 3). I used the GUI interface to search for a Windows networked shares via SMB. It finds it with no problems and I copy over some source code that I need on the Windows machine. I then moved back on my Windows 2000 machine and did the same check for shares using the Microsoft version. I copy off the source code with no problems as well. At this point the device is up and running. I am thinking at this point it is running a version of Linux with the SMB server.
