In the world where everything is blue, for those of us who live there (you know who you are) the Digidoc 5 (DD5) could use an update.
Before we start, the DigiDoc 5 is a bay accesory that helps aid in monitoring your system made by MacPower. Here is what we are dealing with at stock form, a DD5 with ugly orange LED lights.
Here are the tools you're going to need to get this done:

First, we must take the face unit off. This can be done by pushing in the two tabs and pulling the face plate out.


Now with the back of the face plate towards you, take these two screws out:

After removing the upper circuit board you will have to remove two more screws. There are also two stand-off screws you need to remove too:

Once this is done you should have something that looks like this:

Warm up your soldering iron, but before we get crazy unsoldering everything in site, we want to focus on four main points:

This is what we will be taking off on the front. These are the LEDs we will be replacing.

Warning - I came across one problem. As I was desoldering the LEDs I pulled out the metal lining that goes through the hole:
