The first thing I did was take the side off my case and measure it up with this piece of hard plastic. I placed the side onto the Lucite to see how big a difference there was. Since I wasn't going to cut the total area of 16.6" X 24.4", I had a lot of room to spare:
I then continued on my destiny of murdering my case and drew up lines with my trusty pencil and ruler. You can see the lines if you look really closely, the digital camera is not as great as it could be:

The lines are drawn like that to get some of the excess lucite out of the way. The next step is cutting the plastic down. Now I have seen many people say the best way to cut lucite or any other hard plastic is to score it with a knife. Scoring means (no jokes please) to cut enough into the plastic to break it off with your own paws. I gave it a try, I cut into a tiny corner piece to test out this marvelous tip. Guess what, I might as well have took an axe to it. It was quite hard to score it with a puny knife, not something that you'd want to do in my opinion. The edge did crack off, but it took some tiny pieces with it from its surrounding. Since I am the cheap bastard that I am, I said hell with this, I am going with my Dremel:

I am going to say this once again, do this carefully. Lucite is like any other plastic, cut too fast with the dremel and you risk melting it to an ugly lump. Always measure twice the area you plan to hack away at. Measure twice, cut once!
