Following the great line of products that Thermal Take has brought to the cooling table, they are hard at work always perfecting 'the' cooler.  Last time we had their Volcano 5 on the review block, it did decent for an aluminum based unit with a lower speed fan.  Since then, they have took the V5 design and added something extra to create the Volcano 6Cu and 6Cu+.

What makes this Volcano 5 copy, different? It sports a high speed fan (7000 rpms) and a copper core!  If you read our Dragon Orb 3 review, it utilizes the same idea.  Have an aluminum based unit, with a copper core to help dissipate heat faster.

The V6 Cu/+ and the V5 are nearly identical.  From the rippled design on the fins to the mounting clips, these are virtually the same units.  What is strange is that, from a general survey of most retailers the price are almost equal too!  Coming in at about $20 each, we'll see if the copper aided 6Cu is the better deal of the two.

There are two (2) versions of the 6Cu, the 6Cu and the 6Cu+.  We're going to test both versions out, which differ only by the fan speeds.  The regular version is equipped with a 4550rpm fan, while the + version uses a 7000rpm fan.  The + version will definitely be louder, pumping out about 38CFMs, it may not be suited for the consumer that wants the 'quiet' case.
