The CNPS3100 is the same design as the CNPS2005. Again the CNPS3100 came in a larger box than what I'm use to seeing. In it was the Copper flower, a tube of silicon, the Fan mounted on a bracket, 2 packages with 3 screws in it, the noiseless connecter, and instructions.

Again the base of the HSF was very well finished, it is very smooth and finely machined polished. And like the Aluminum flower there was no TIM (Thermal Interface Module) that had to be removed from the heatsink, this is a very welcome advance. The only problem that I could see is that the clamps that are used to sandwich the thin pieces of copper that make up the heatsink appear to be aluminum. There maybe a risk of galvanic corrosion happening between the cooper and the aluminum, especially if water is some how applied to the heatsink… But since most of us don't have water in our cases it should be a relatively minor problem.

Since this heatsink uses the same bracket mounted fan, we had a problem mounting it in our case/motherboard. We could only use one screw to hold the bracket in place. An adjustable bracket would be a very welcome feature that Zalman should really look into.

Anyone see a problem here? By adding the noiseless connecter the cooling abilities of the heatsink went to downhill. 63C is way to high for any cpu to reach and expect to function normally. Hopefully with the CNPS5000 Zalman has fixed this issue.
