Here is a shot of the middle area where the clip for the motherboard goes through. Make sure you place the clip in first before attaching the fan, it can be a pain to remove the wires over and over again : )
The motherboard clip can be kind of tough, a small flat headed screwdriver is the best bet in getting this on and off your motherboard.
With the fan clips that are provided, no more screws are needed to attach any fan to the heatsink. This helps the people who constantly switch fans around, no tools are needed to do the work.
Attaching the clip requires just two steps. We first hooked the bottom hooks into the holes and then pulled it up onto the fan, nothing to it.
We will be using our 38 CFM fan on our reviews from now on to have the same fan on each of our heatsinks. No unit will have an advantage over another in CFMs from their fans.
