What do you get when you mix ease of use, sleek design and clarity? For us, it's the Samsung 173P LCD monitor. The first time I opened the box, I thought it looked like it was modeled after the Apple Ipod from the back. It is designed with a silver/white exterior and sleek power on button.  That's not just the only thing that's eye catching, let's see what else we have in store.

Here are some specs from the Samsung website:

Included in the box are VGA and DVI cables, power brick and cord, quick start guide and a cd-rom.  Samsung has always provided very little documentation in paper form.  Instead, the full manual is included on the compact disc.

Upon first impressions, I noticed they kept the bottom rotating wheel.  This allows you to spin the monitor without actually having to move the base.  This is especially helpful if you have a small or cramped desk.  Instead of clearing out all the contents on your desk just to turn your monitor, you can just swivel it in place.

There is  actually no controls on the monitor itself.  Everything is taken care of through the MagicTune software located on the CDRom. It allows for brightness, contrast, etc. customization.  MagicBright is also included, which allows you to flip to preset brightness/contrast settings for text and other types of viewing situations.
