One of the immediate impressions that this mouse makes is the oddly shaped design. The mouse is a lot longer than any of the other mechanical mice we have used. The left and right buttons at the top of the mouse are long also thus eliminating any missed clicks in the heat of a frag fest!
The scroll button could have been larger. Often times a lot of scrolling was necessary to navigate down a website. Another negative in regards to the scroll button is the option of pressing it down for extra options. It was rather hard and many a times I thought I missed it only to hit it too many times and opening up too many menus. More on this will be discussed in the software overview.

The texture where the third button is located on the side is slightly different than the top covering, it feels rougher and un-finished. A possible reason is to provide better grip while using the mouse. The third mouse button can be mapped for different functions including a one click that emulates a double click action.

And finally, something that stuck out very bright about this mouse is the illuminated Logitech logo at the base of the mouse. A very freaky sight when seen in total darkness. Something definitely that will catch people's eyes at a LAN party!

While using the mouse navigating through the web, it took a little getting used to. The mouse is just that fast! Converting over from a ball based mouse to an optical mouse, there is a slight learning curve. Everything seems to move just a little faster! This mouse will work on all surfaces other than mirror or glass.
